Welcome to the TESS Website
Transport for Everyone in South Shropshire was set up in February 1999 to make the best use of existing transport within South Shropshire.
We were set up to combat transport inequalities caused by the rural nature of South Shropshire by providing information about public transport, by supporting voluntary car schemes and by setting up projects such as minibus services or lift sharing groups where no other transport opportunities exist.
Following the mainstreaming of our major projects TESS closed its doors on the 31st of March 2008.
Our experience and knowledge can still be accessed through our consultancy at Community Based Transport either through our website or by phone on 01584 876662.
Having developed our services as far as we could Shropshire County Council is now responsible for the 49 Link and the Shropshire Hills Shuttles. To contact someone about the 49Link please phone 0800 032 1017 and for information on the Shropshire Hills Shuttle please ring 01743 253030 or send an e-mail to customerfirst@shropshire.gov.uk.
The Mini Bus Sharing Scheme and the Corvedale Buzzard are being run by Church Stretton Ring & Ride and can be accessed by phoning 01694 720025.

Having taken the Shropshire Hills Shuttle services as far as we could, Shropshire County Council are now taking them forward. Shropshire County Council can be contacted via their website or on 01743 253030.
The Shropshire Hills Shuttles** was set up by TESS with two main aims
Firstly, to provide a sustainable alternative to mass car use in the Shropshire Hills to help to reduce the amount of congestion and of visual and airborne pollution that the car can cause in this designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Secondly, to provide a vital public transport link between outlying communities and the market towns in the area, at weekends and on Bank Holiday Mondays, where previously there was none.
For further information on all of the Shuttles please use the contacts on the Shuttle Site or Phone 01743 253030.

The Buzzard

Another local bus service operating in and around the Corvedale. This service operates independently of TESS.
You can phone them on 01588 673888 to find out more, or book a journey.
Car Clubs in South Shropshire

These are a pool of cars that local people (the members), can use whenever they need them, thereby doing away with the costs and trouble of traditional car ownership.
Cars are expensive to buy, and even more expensive to run, but for many journeys, public transport is not flexible or frequent enough
TESS is looking into an alternative to be operated throughout the South Shropshire area.
Are you interested? If so please contact TESS on 01588 673 888 or email: Linda Cox

The Night Owl
Due to the low demand for this service it has not been carried forward.
This was a Tuesday evening bus service into Ludlow.
