Following the mainstreaming of our major projects TESS closed its doors on the 31st of March 2008.
Our experience and knowledge can still be accessed through our consultancy at Community Based Transport either through our website or by phone on 01584 876662.
Having developed our services as far as we could Shropshire County Council is now responsible for the 49 Link and the Shropshire Hills Shuttles. To contact someone about the 49Link please phone 0800 032 1017 or send an e-mail to customerfirst@shropshire.gov.uk.
New bus: same great service - Apr 2007
The 49Link service now has a smart new bus, but the outstanding, personal door-to-door service that so many rely on remains the same as ever.
The 49Link bus can be booked by phoning 0800 032 1017 for journeys Monday to Friday, 9.30 to 2.30, in and around the Craven Arms area. We can pick you up from your door and take you to your destination, at a time to suit you. When busy we will offer you a time as close to this as possible.
You can use the 49Link bus to travel within the area from the Corvedale to the Clun valley, and Marshbrook to Onibury, or anywhere in between. The bus is fully accessible, with a low floor, and can take up to three wheelchairs or pushchairs too.
Competition Winner - Dec 2006
Passengers were asked to tell friends, neighbours and family about the bus service and have others join them on a bus journey, to be entered in a draw.
The winner, who has used the bus service since finding out about it in September and has already spread the news of the fantastic service to others, did not wish to be named.
Other users have commented that they would not be able to do their weekly shop without the bus...
Linda Cox, Chief Officer of TESS, is pictured receiving vouchers donated by Harry Tuffins, from Craven Arms Store Manager John Fumagalli, on behalf of the passenger.

Local youngsters enjoy Mickey Miller's Play Barn - Oct 2006
Local teenager Joel Leversedge arranged a fun day out for a group of local children in the half-term holidays.
As part of his GCSE Citizenship coursework Joel had to do something that was community based.
“The children in my village of Culmington have nowhere to play out, and get pretty fed up in the holidays with nothing to do. If I had tried to put in place something new in the village, by the time anything could be done these children would have been too old to enjoy it, so I wanted to use facilities and services that were already available.”
Joel turned to TESS to find out about picking the group up and taking them by bus to Mickey Miller’s Play Barn in Craven Arms.
Spokesman for TESS, Mathew Mead, said, “Community transport like the 49Link bus is available to everyone in the community who needs access to services and leisure opportunities. We were delighted to be able to help Joel and his group to get to the Play Barn where they can have a great day and play safely.”

Celebrating South Shropshire - Sept 2006
TESS had a stand exhibiting at the ‘Celebrate South Shropshire’ event, held on Friday the 22nd September 2006 at Craven Arms Community Centre.
Launching the Community Strategy for South Shropshire, with the aim of improving the quality of life for everyone in South Shropshire, the event was a showcase for many of the organisations and business in the area. It gave visitors a chance to see how much is already happening in the area, and on their doorstep!
TESS were there to promote not only the 49Link bus, but also the Shropshire Hills Shuttles - follow the main page link to find out more about this service.

A sticky situation - Aug 2006
In August 2006 it was decided that the 49Link bus needed MORE branding - so it got it’s own website address added to the back window.
Pictured is Chief Officer Linda Cox showing the address.
